Natural Healing Centre’s Nutritional Therapy program looks at the whole person; body, mind & spirit. In the 8 week program, you will take an in-depth look at your relationship with food past and present, weight, body composition, your emotions & behaviours associated with eating, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, goals and current state of health including physiological and psychological factors. NHC’s Advanced Nutritional Therapy program is designed to utilize a variety of medical and therapeutic services used in integrative medicine including nutritional counselling, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy for weight loss and supplement recommendations. Each session will be progressive and patient specific. This program is for lasting lifestyle change; not a quick-fix weight loss plan. Our program is based on science, clinical evidence and results.

You will be assessed, monitored and supported in several ways including regular heart rate and blood pressure check ups, weekly measurements + weigh-ins, counselling and healing sessions. NHC’s Advanced Nutritional Therapy program treats and prevents atherosclerosis, hypertension, obesity, disordered eating, digestive and inflammatory bowel diseases, autoimmune diseases and conditions, diabetes and some cancers. As well as relatively healthy individuals seeking improved quality of life. *Extended programs are available for complex and sensitive medical conditions*

Education is a large part of NHC’s program. You will learn the science behind what you eat and how it works inside your body to restore optimal health, or alternatively contribute to disease. NHC has professional food replicas used to educate you on portion sizes across various food groups. You will also learn about RDA’s, how to read + understand ingredient lists and become an informed consumer when it comes to your food. Simple and healthy recipes will be included along with meal prep ideas. A Simple exercise program will be prescribed based on your current level of fitness and ability.

You will also learn effective cognitive and behavioural strategies to achieve your goals. How we eat and how we feel when we eat are just as important as what we are eating. CBT + lifestyle coaching will help you stick to your weight loss or nutritional improvement goals and stay motivated. Keeping a food + mood journal will establish association with emotions and behavioural patterns as well bring awareness to intake of particular foods and physical symptom connections. Knowing the facts is essential, but also knowing how you came to be this way, and what your story is, is the missing piece to the puzzle. There are many things that shape who we are, and more often than not, it is not found on the scale. NHC’s program also includes one Hypnotherapy session for weight loss that will greatly contribute to your success.

Diet and lifestyle have a profound and long lasting effect on your quality of life and will work to restore balance and harmony within the body. We heal ourselves from the inside out. Good nutrition is the foundation for your health, and your greatest tool in disease prevention. Food is something to be celebrated, enjoyed and shared; it is a great source of pleasure in this life! Enjoying pancakes on Sundays, a pizza loaded with toppings or sharing a bottle of wine with friends is absolutely okay. But so is drinking lemon water in the morning, blending fresh fruit smoothies, chopping veggies for snacks and cooking more at home using whole foods. It’s all about moving away from bingeing, restrictive eating, processed foods and unhealthy motivations. Bringing more of the beneficial foods into your everyday, because you want to. Everything in moderation, everything in balance. Food has an amazing ability to transform health. It can heal and reverse disease and vastly improve your day to day life.
