Ruka's relationship with yoga began at a young age of nine, when she first took a kids yoga class at her primary school. Since then, she had an on-again off-again relationship with yoga until 2015 when she attended her first in-studio class. The physical, mental and emotional benefits she experienced through yoga led her to complete her 250 hour teacher training with Hot Yoga Wellness. Ruka's classes offer a safe and welcoming space that encourages self-growth, self-discovery and self-love. The moderate pace of her flows allow for students to be aware of the mind-body-breath connection, and to send their focus from the external to the internal. Through language, props and modifications, she also works to make yoga accessible to all people regardless of their social identities. Ruka is also a social science student who loves soy lattes, plants and laughs she shares with people.
